75mm binding too wide for my boot
I got a used pair of skis with old Villom 3pin binding sized large, says for boots 41-47. I wear 40. There is a ton of play side to side when clamped. Any suggestions how to fix this on the binding (not messing with my boots)? I figure some bit of tape on the inside of the wings would work, if it holds, but if anyone has experience or ideas... thanks.

Are you sure it's a 75mm and not at 79, which were around as late as the 1980's, and I'm pretty sure Villom made one. In any case, modifying the binding is, in all likelihood, not worth the trouble. Three pins can be had for little to nothing.

I didn't know about the 79mm thing. Otherwise, vice grips and a ball peen hammer are my "go-to" precision instruments.

Re: 75mm binding too wide for my boot
I did not measure and see nothing descriptive re 79. Holding it up back to back to another binding it definitely looks 79 though. The issue with using the 2nd binding is the screw holes are the same but the pin line is different and I don't feel like plugging and redrilling, or having the pins 1cm further forward.
Vice grips and hammer--do you think the aluminum might break or weaken substantially from bending? To the point of imminent failure? If it's actually a 79mm binding? Yeah old 3pins are cheap but would be nice to just make these ones work for reason above.

I never heard of a 75mm binding that was size specific, could you post a picture? As far as the discrepancy of the pin line, I wouldn't worry about it.

I wasn't aware the old 3 pins came in different sizes, so I had a look at some of mine. To my surprise, my old gresshoppa kwikkstepps say small narrow, my troll 3 pins say small xx and my skiloms say medium. A quick measurement does show the skiloms to be wider.

I had never heard of size specific 75mm either. There is enough room for at least 3 id cards at the front side of the duckbill, even more space a bit further back, behind the bail.

Curious what boot you are using. None of my telly/ bc boots fit in the old bindings.

Re: 75mm binding too wide for my boot
These are Crispi Bre. I suppose I could try other boots but my old (80s?) Crispi Mountain and UK Army Surplus Alico Ski March all fit the same as far as width goes in my other bindings (the Ski March has a thicker duckbill which is an unrelated issue--the width and lateral play between them all is the same). I also have an old EMS 3pin that reads "med" and provides a tight fit side to side just like Voile and Rotte 3pins. Problem is pins being 1cm forward on those. Probably won't matter much for a wooden Asnes Turski that will be used primarily distance on flat straight trails.
