Very nice mood in the pictures! I have only skied shorter daytrips from my grandparents house and from Grova, as well as some short hiking. My grandfather was from Hitra, an island on the coast, while my grandmother was from Selbu, and they settled in Meråker due to work opportunities.

Selbu? Then you must know the Schulzhytta? For me that is the nicest of the full service DNT huts. A lot of character.

Got some turkey turns in today.

First ski of the season in 10” of snow in NPS.GOV/ROMO. Planned on doing a 5.5 mi loop but ended up doing 3/4 on skis and having to walk back on Trail Ridge road at the end, not enough snow in the valley.

Here, the Dolomites are unusually warm, warmer up on the mountain this morning (4° C) than in the valley (2°C).

I noticed flying over the Alps and Dolomites a couple of weeks ago (Dusseldorf-Venice) the snow line was very high for this time of year.

Might have to drive three hours to Stubai in Austria and do some lift skiing- they have 17 of 26 lifts running and a 50cm base, plus the glacier under it.

Skiing in avy chute next to one that broke loose the day before.

Had to drive 45 min to get to some real snow. And found some untouched in Fraser, CO, W St. Louis Creek.
Perfect conditions for the Madshus M62.
