One ski to rule them all! A one ski quiver for all disciplines

Nope, not going to happen.
Not saying I¨m gonna choose this over my skate skis for dedicated skate sessions, but I¨m not gonna diversify into multiple BC skis, because there¨s no need. This setup can do everything.

It¨s about simplicity. Going on a-b trips and having a setup that just deals with everything you come across. Not having to plan in advance. Not being bound down by multiple sets of gear. Just taking the train or bus somewhere new and skiing for a day, a weekend, or a week. Traveling on snow, and being ready for anything.

I¨ve done all the extreme stuff. Skiing powder at 100km/h, rappelling into steep couloirs in a whiteout, doing this, doing that. I barely made it out alive, and most of my friends died, one after the other. So I stopped skiiing altogether. Now I¨m making a comeback, but in a much simpler. purer form.

Where can we read their obituaries? Very sad stuff indeed. ..or was this a video game?

Kind of a shame that what was originally a very inspiring thread has gone kinda nasty…

mikael.oh, I’m personally motivated by the video you posted several pages ago. I do a lot of barefoot running and I’ve definitely left a lot of tracks in the snow. When I work out in my back yard (year round in British Columbia) it’s usually with a minimum of clothing/footwear. Your ‘Wim Hof’ video has me yearning to get those Gammes I’ve been lusting for, throw on some shorts and get out on the forestry service roads I enjoy.

Having said that, tomorrow calls for sun so shorts it is. Just going out to the shop to wax the NATOS (the originals) in anticipation of that.

In fairness, I’m inspired by the accomplishments and skills of both @randoskier AND @mikael.oh (and many others here).

I think there is room for all, if tolerance and respect are shown.
In the end, everything is revealed, including our true nature.
In the interim, I guess things can get a little messy.
Oh well.

Apparently I’m pretty pissed off about all this.
I have been sort of an outsider all my life, so the poor behavior exhibited here just triggers feelings about that.

Mikael is a real person and people are trivializing him, which is easy to do when someone is not standing in front of you.

@mikael.oh was not offering humorous banter to riff off of and he made that clear, yet people disrespected his pushback on that and continued.

For me, there is a difference between being what you call "braggarts" and "preached" at (which are labels and an opinion), and, at the extreme, one board member challenging another board member to prove he has had friends who have died in climbing accidents. That went too far for me.
And, as far as I'm concerned, the pile-on dirission was uncalled for, also.
