TX Comp w/ Tech Toe

Post by NTN Mike » Wed Jan 04, 2017 1:15 pm

Aloha,

Yesterday I spotted a Scarpa TX Comp with a tech toe. Didn't spot the heel. Was not allowed to take a pic.

Anyone know anything about this? I also heard about updates for next year on the boots (real updates, not just color and buckles). Anyone hear anything about that?

Hope you're all enjoying a pow filled season,

Where did you spot it?

The masses have been asking for this for some time, so that'd probably be very well received.

Spotted on a scarpa / 22designs / voile / jubilo / ect... athlete. In park city, UT.

Personally, I'd like a carbon cuff with a walk mode that is somewhat similar to any light walking AT boot (atomic backland , Fischer transalp, dynafit tlt, ect...)

I'd also like to see a redesigned lower. put more carbon in there, less thick ass pbax. Perhaps some bushings at the cuff, or a technica style plastic on plastic smooth walk.

I just want a light boot that is on par with the modern AT offerings.

and I want it ....

MEOW.

If we ever see one of those, I'll eat my own hat and switch to NTN. Tech tele is appealing, but not with the current boot selection!

I did hear from someone a rumor of the newer scarpa boots only coming with tech fitting in the toe and not the heel.

I remember seeing people retrofitting inserts on the Comps a couple years ago on the old forum...

Skiing powder with a racing boot doesn't make any sense to me but I know people are dreaming of tech TX Comps...

Yeah, it's possible the person did it himself. What Voile binding would be compatible with NTN boots? Are they expanding? That would be excellent too.

He did not put the tech inserts in himself... But he did put a mastrale rs cuff on the boot.
