I agree, however Spectra/Dyneema can be quite slippery and require special knots to be effective, so if someone chooses this option, read up first to prevent frustration later.

Woods, that Scarpa Mountain link no longer works....go figure.

I have founds the scarpa laces online elsewhere. 10USD a pair. Given I live in Canader and I now have to lace 4 pairs of boots, that is quite an investment!

Anyone know of a Canadian source for good no-stretch laces?

Everyone skates here, so I'm going to try out a pair of waxed and non-waxed ice skate laces that I can surely find locally.

The scarpas sure look nice though.

Let's see how that goes!

I’ve put these on my Alicos...



...unfortunately they were only available in black at my local ski shop so no eye candy colour on my boots (that are usually hidden under gaiters anyway). The 72” waxed cost me about $4 with tax. Very happy with them- I was out for a couple of hours yesterday and didn’t have to retie at all.

They’re on Amazon, eBay, and I saw them on a site called ProHockeyLife in Canada (the shipping was about double the cost of the laces though).

Addendum to my post above, and the whole lacing issue:
I've been having the same problem with them loosening on my Alaska's with the regular laces (it's been common on most of my boots, hiking included). I have tried a lacing pattern similar to what lowangle suggested, and that does help. The other day though, I laced 'em up snug at the house, drove over to the trailhead, skied some ungroomed trails for a couple hours, and the lacing stayed consistent. Same laces, different knot; I just tried the simplest alternative one on the site I listed above, and they held fine.
Think I'll get around to picking up some good, flat nylon's, too, in place of the round ones.

I found loads of those WAXED hockey laces in Canadian Tire. Thanks Inspiredcapers! They are extremely well-made, cheap, hardly stretch at all and the wax really makes them no slip. The fit is great and stays as you want it. They are awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
