Ron doing what you said on the e109's....For the crust am on tip toe tele....Stand up high and ride...Steep shots shoot them....wring out the turns on the less steep sections....where you can ride with the skis flat on the snow and do very gentle hardly noticeable long arcs.....Punching crust will get you and most others what Teleking and Telekid got a few pictures back.....They challenged it and it got them!!!!! Standing high really helps...

I used to do like semi jump turns to break the crust, but that doesn't work at all with pins w/o cables... Cause it's really hard to stay in balance when you "land" the turns... I try to do the opposite... Try to turn very gently to stay on top... Slowly moving the front ski until I can get into the tele position... Feels like dancing...
Arcing is dancing... 8-)

I wish I got as many snow slidin' days as you, but what has helped my knees is the daily intake of glucosamine/chondroitin. Some would try to point out that this is just a placebo, but my anecdotal evidence indicates otherwise.

I had a former employer, who held 50+ patents in biomedical discovery centrifuges, that was of the typical ilk to deny any treatment that worked simply on the principal of belief; a true evidence-based scientist. He would say himself that if you have to believe for it to work, that it was bogus. He apologetically admitted that Glucosamine treatments, while conservative thought calling it a placebo, had done wonders for his joint treatment in his elder years.

Just sayin'...

wall sits. Imagine sitting in a chair, back against the wall. feet on the floor. Except, no chair.

Thanks for hosting this forum. Makes me want to get back into shape and catch some spring skiing here the Sierra, though the snow pack may not be there by the time I am ready for it. There is always next season, though.
Regards,
Chuck
