Waxable E109...
Does someone know this one? I can't find a sizing chart for them... Is the camber stiff? I found a 178 cm pair used...

Re: Waxable E109...
Do you know what model year they are? I have the current model E-109 Tour Xtralite Easy-Skin- I have started a review of them over in the "Community Review" section.
The current model has a low profile second camber (i.e. "camber and a half"). The flex pattern underfoot is similar to the Madshus Eon- EXCEPT that the flex of the current E-109 is significantly stiffer than the current Eon. I have the Eon and the current E-109 in a 205cm length. As a backcountry xcountry ski I find the Eon too soft at my weight (185lbs). Despite being stiffer than the Eon- the flex of the current E-109 is finely tuned for fresh soft snow and manageable downhill turns. That being said- I would place the E-109 more on the "XC" side of "XCD" and the Eon more in the middle.
I love the E-109 as a distance-oriented backcountry when the conditions are ideal- see my review for more details.
Overall- I think that the waxable E-99 is a better ski though...

Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Re: Waxable E109...
Almost positive I have tried that model- but cannot remember enough to offer any useful information...I was an almost exclusively Karhu man back then (at least when it came to Nordic touring skis).
The person that comes to mind is Ben (bgregoire)...If my memory is correct he seems to have true knowledge of these older model E-series.

Re: Waxable E109...
@Rodbelan,
Hi Rod! I've tried these before and IMO they are more XC oriented than the new Xlite version. Similarly to the newer version, I believe they were sized 10cm shorter than their E99 counterparts which are full length XC. They are a stiff ski but with a softer, albeit very long wax pocket when compared to the older E99s (which I like very much). No nordic rocker or anything like that.
My guess is that as your gabarit, these 178cm will do you fine, worst comes to worst, you will make you Gfriend very happy. Plus, hey! They come with YOUR initials...and those fancy metal eye loops to attach who the hell knows what to come free to! Lets do a trip next winter, you be on those oldskol E109s and I will take my same vintage E99s. Rock it.

Re: Waxable E109...
Salut Ben,
Thanks for the info...From what you said though, I'm not sure they fit. For exemple, my Glittertind are 180 and perfect...
For the trip? No problem. Or for another outing at the Montagne Saint-Pierre... We'll keep in touch.
Pis, y a-t-y de l'eau assez à ton goût? Tu dois te faire aller le kayak en ce moment. Caro et moi préparons un petit trip aux mines... On se revoit bientôt!
