...Much cooler and wetter weather to return to the region next
week...

A large low pressure system will be moving into the Pacific
Northwest next week bringing rain, high elevation snow and much
cooler temperatures starting Sunday night.

Periods of rain will begin late Sunday and continue at times
through much of the week. Most of the rain will be over the
mountain areas, but the lower elevations will see some light rain
at times.

Snow levels will be around 7000 feet Sunday night and are expected
to lower to between 5000 to 6000 feet by Tuesday and remain
around 6000 to 7000 feet through the rest of the week.

Temperature will be about 10 to 15 degrees below normal with
daytime highs in the 50s and 60s in the lower elevations and 40s
and 50s in the mountains. Overnight lows will be in the 30s and
40s with mid 20s to lower 30s in the mountains.

People planning travel or outdoor activities, especially in the
mountains should be prepared for the changing conditions.
