Well- I have had about enough boredom at my local-lift serve.

I am thinking my next step is NNN-BC with the stiff red flexor...

I might be wrong, but I think the red ones are NNN mediums only...?
I have only seen black and white BC flexors... White being incredibly, ridiculously fucking stiff...

I used to have green NNN-BC toe bumpers. They were medium stiffness, significantly stiffer than the black.

They were the maximum usable stiffness for the type of touring I was doing.

They definitely limited kick & glide range-of-motion, but did provide the feeling of a little more rear ski turning pressure and control.

I find the white bumpers are pretty impossible, even after trying to drill out some material from them to make them softer.

Yeah, the red NNN ones are obviously for skating... But for NNN-BC...? Why would anyone want a stiff flexor except for downhill purposes? Nobody is using NNNBC for downhill... Nobody is making turns on NNNBC...!

It is quite popular to mount NNN-BC bindings to Nordic skates (and I mean ice skates, like Lilcliffy wrote, not skating skis) instead of those regular NNN bindings. I guess it's good to have stiff bindings for that.

That is why I ski the USGI's and leathers at the ski hill. I'm on 3-pins, but it is the same basic idea. I know why NNN is popular, but for me NN works and I do not want to buy another pair of boots and change out skis.

Ahahaha! That is saying a lot about them...
They are also very hard to install... I almost destroyed the first pair I tried to replace...

Oh, you must be right...! That must be it... In fact, I bought the white flexors at the same time (and same store) I bought my ice skates... That makes a lot of sense... I ended up mounting my skates with pins, but they sure will get an NNNBC upgrade soon...

The times I was "nordic backountry" ice-skating in sweden, it was as a group, and peeps had a few combinations of bindings and boots: oldskool 3-pin style with locked heel (the worst), NNN-BC and snow skate bindings. I think young athetic types liked the salomon pilots and good skating boots best, although NNN-BC allows for a much warmer boot as they tend to go out for all-day adventures. I remeber now that they mostly did have the red flexors.

Nah, I didn't get mine in QC... Somewhere in VT or NH I don't remember... The simple wooden ones like I bought were very cheap, something like 40$...

A white NNN-BC flexor?
I would definitely take it if nobody else needs it... I need to update my skates to NNN-BC...

I want to give them a try too !!! I might need them to survive the geriatric slopes of mont Alta this winter

Fun! Any yellow and pink rottefella traps to offer up for trade? Those would fit fine on my next pair of skis!
