The only skis I feel safe skiing with my dog are my S-112. They have steel edges, but they are so thin I have never touched them with a file. Years of skiing and rocky trails have them where they are the next best thing to edgeless.

Just found out about this thread so I thought I could give some updates on pricing.

Special orders from La Cordée

Raab : 700$
FT62 : 640$
Tindan : Around 840$
Flat rate shipping of 52$ for the US I was told.

For the other models that they keep in store it should be there early November... I was told...

I just did a special order with La Cordee for the FT62, Vincent was very helpful. Seems like it's still not too late to get a special order tacked on to their incoming shipment. David

Hi Nitram, I decided to go for 188 based on feedback from other members. I'm 6'1" and 165 to 170 lbs. Kind of puts me right on the border for either 188 or 180. David

I think you did the rigth thing. I am 6’1’’ as well but heavier and last year I bought a pair of Alpina 102 at 178. It is not that they are bad skis but that is really short when it comes to the XC part. It feels like you will never reach your destination as they are so slow on the flats and rolling terrain but they are really good climbers and sooo fast going downhill.

I assume an Åsnes ski of the similar length would have better XC performance but I am quite sure you would have regret choosing the shorter one.

I got myself the longest Raab available and the snow can not arrive soon enough ;) .

I guess the new Asnes has arrived in North America... for sure they did in Québec https://www.lacordee.com/fr/nsearch/?q=asnes they have the new Ousland

Just for fun I checked both Neptune and Norseman and they did not have much on their website... I have no idea what they actually have in their store as it sometimes differ... At La Cordée they keep a lot of BC model but unfortunately we still have to do special orders for skis such as FT62, Rabb68, etc. Although it is probably not that unfortunate as we can't succumb to impulsive buying when seeing them in the store ;)

How come I have that much time to spare :?:
