Secret to skiing mastery- no jerks allowed!
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Well, the results of the Norwegian team are certainly impressive. I remember when I was a younger man the Norwegians were certainly not an alpine skiing power. On the other hand, Alberto Tomba was fun to watch as well. He had a reputation as a party guy. I remember he was going to be serious about the Olympics. Instead of partying with 3 women until 5 in the morning, he would party with 5 women, but only until 3 in the morning.

Thanks for posting this. It is refreshing to see community building rather than shameless self-promotion and runaway individualism. We also know that Norwegians make great skis (e.g., Asnes).

I think this is a better explanation for Norwegian dominance at Winter Olympics:

^^^^ That's what I think, a higher number of participants at a higher level of participation. Also, their Nordic team kicked ass, do they have the same kind of rules?
