Hey you canoe guys, check out canoetripping .net for good info, especially for builders. Fisheater, a guy just posted about his decked strip canoe build, it was impressive.

oh man, yeah, i would like to build a canoe one day, probably a stripper. but this springs plans are now these skis, and i have to make a new mast and sails for the puddle duck, preferably before june. paddle 'em like ya stole 'em!

and keep those wood projects coming, it's great inspiration!

The binding shown reminded me of bindings that my dad made us on our Northland skis in the early 50's.
The original "binding" was a leather strap fed through a channel in the ski. And back then, the ski length was determined by how high you could reach. And as a kid, skiing in rubber boots. Being an innovator as most people of the Depression, he made a similar binding. Except he used a slice of rubber intertube to fashion an "active" binding.

I like the Northland pamphlet. It showed you everything you needed to know about skiing in one page. 8-)
