Boy, that's a lousy way to go. I assume cause of death is asphyxiation?

I was in a tree well at about 45 degrees, head up. It was not a big deal, but I immediately recognized just how deadly dangerous getting caught could be. I have never forgotten just how fortunate I was to have received that education without serious consequences .

Sorry to pour on the bad news, but I think always being conscious and aware of the risks of off-piste/backcountry skiing might prevent death or injury. Sad to hear about these guys.
