trouble posting pics

I tried to post pics today but got the message that file was too big. I've posted pics taken with the same camera before with no problem. Could it be a setting in the camera or what?

SO I just tried to post two pics. The 3.5mb picture took AOK, but the 5.9mb did not, it was too big.

Resize the picture on your computer, or take smaller pictures by changing the camera setting at the risk of losing resolution if you want to print them out.

This one is 4.6MB so I would imagine somewhere around 5.0MB is where you're going to run into problems.

Thanks Woods, that would probably be pretty easy for someone that knows what they are doing.

with pic opened up on your computer:
function: "save as" you should see an option to change image size
if you want to save the original photo and size, just change the photo name

I'm on microsoft, so not familiar what works on other systems

Thanks 1eye, I got to the save as but couldn't find resize option. I got home from a ski yesterday and there were four lynx in my yard. I watched them for about a half hour. They were hunting mice or voles that were under almost 2 feet of snow. It was a National Geographic moment.
