Updated 2018-2019 Fischer Site and product line:
https://www.fischersports.com/nordic/ski/adventure/

All of their off-track Nordic touring skis are now grouped together- "Adventure".
199cm 78 is back! E-109 Crown is probably dead then.
No more S-Bound 125?
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

It looks like... Nothing new at all...? SOS? Same Old Skis?
Oh wait, cyan and yellow paint, sorry...

The upcoming Asnes RABB, with the same waist as the S98, is wider, lighter and probably less expensive than the new S-98... While the S98 is offering slightly opened tips for "Hardcore skiers", the RABB comes with rocker, with a taper tip and tail for "Hard adventures".

(DISCLAIMER: I do NOT sell skis for Asnes!) ;)

New Fischer S-Bound 98:
98-69-88mm
air-wood channel core
full-steel edge
single camber
2.490g (179cm)

Asnes RABB:
105-68-95mm
solid wood core
wrap-around steel edge
camber and a half?
2.260g (180cm)

WOW looks like they are BACK to long lengths! Exc 88, Outback 68 and Spider 62 are coming in 199 lengths now too! Nice! Someone saw the light. I wonder how long it will last.

I could probably use a 78 in 199. It could be helpful with all the refrozen snow we have around here.

Johnny, you will be more excited after you ski the Rabb 68, then you are thinking about it.

No. Historically, I think 189cm+ was for 180lb skiers or more (could be off by a few lbs), but I'm 155/160 and have had success on the 189 length, 179 if I'm going to be doing more up/down than distance.

I was historically heavy and would previously have needed longest length. 189 cm was not bad for me, and probably would still be the correct size, since I am down to about 185-190 lbs. I am only 5'7" and have short legs as well, the longer skis are difficult.
