Big boots in NNN-BC

Post by stanbiker » Thu Oct 25, 2018 3:10 pm

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend some large boots for NNN-BC. I like the looks of the Alaska boot, but it only goes up to size 47. My NNN boots are size 49. I have some fisher boots in size 48 but they are tight.

My main use will be winter backpacking and I don't intend to do much steep traveling if I can avoid it. I would prefer leather if possible. something I can also hike in if necessary.

Thanks!

ALFA make boots up to 52... (!!!)
Not sure if you can find a NNNBC model of that size though, but it's worth contacting them.

FWIW, my size 46 Alfa NNN-BC boots felt bigger than my 47 Alaska BCs... So I'm pretty sure an ALFA 48 might feel like a Alpina 49... Almost all ALFA NNN-BC boots are available (and in stock!) in size 48... 8-)

The Kikut Perform, available in 48, is just THE most comfortable boot I've ever tried.

Thanks for the advise.

I've sent a message to the ALFA distributor in Vermont.

Has anyone tried the Alpina Snowfield or BC1600? those seem to be available in size 49. Do they have the toe issues like the 1550?

Thanks.

Don't waste your time with phone calls, messages and people who don't reply to emails. You can order directly from Norway via their website. Sadly, the days of retailers and distributors are over...

I ordered a pair yesterday from Norway and they have shipped already! They should be here within 5 days... Wow!!! (Shipping was 45$ US...)

You are right! I did not receive any responses!

I was able to try on a pair of the Alpina boots in size 48, so I ordered a pair of the Alpina Snowfields in size 49.

The Alfa boots look nice, but I was worried about sizing.
