Norwegian stitch NN 75mm Resole?

Post by bgregoire » Fri Dec 28, 2018 7:07 pm

Well, its time to resole my Alico Teletours. My local cobblers cannot order the required Vibram Ferret (010150) telemark sole!

p. 57:

I've contacted the US Virbram sole distributor and they are out of my size (8):

I know there are a few cobblers in the US that can do the job (and have the soles).

Does anyone know of a Canadian cobller that does leather norwegian stitch tele resoling?

(In this particular instance, the norwegian stitch does not need to be redone, only a new Vibram sole...but lets gather that info here too!)

If not, please list you favourite cobblers in the US that can do the job!

Cheers.

I have used Dave Page, Cobbler in Seattle. He was having trouble getting soles 10 years ago, but you never know. Good luck.

Try Limmer in NH too. I think Cannatonic might be able to add here, this is his bailiwick.

Guys,

I'm just back from my first tour with my newly resoled Alico Teletours. Man, Dave the Cobbler did an amazing job. A new STIFF sole in a pre-formed leather is doubly sublime.

Dave (and his crew) was able to replace the special hard midsole that gradually thickens from 3mm in the back to 6mm at the front. To me, its obvious this type of midsole is intended to facilitate bending the boot right on or slightly behind the ball of the foot.

Check him out:

glad to see he's still going - this is the guy who was able to convert my hiking boots into 3-pin ski boots! I"m sure your resole was no problem for the master

He resoled a pair of snowfields sometime back. Fair price and excellent job. Glad to know he is still going, cuz my old ultras could use a resole.
