Military Surplus skis..which ones

Post by Slimfinn » Wed Jan 30, 2019 12:01 pm

SO I have found the Karhu and Elan on ebay and Asnes at Coleman's, any others out there? I started thinking about them to get a cheap set of waxed skis to have. I learned on waxed with old cable bindings as a kid, and thats all my dad ever used and got thinking maybe I should give it a try now that I'm older and I have a box of wax on the shelf. Was considering putting some 3 pin bindings on them, because why not spend $250 on new boots and binding for your $20 skis...Anyway just kinda thinking out loud..

Hey Slimfinn-
I have a couple of sets of both the Asnes USGI and the Karhu Combat skis.
I also have the current Asnes Combat Nato- which should end up in surplus sales- I hope- at some point.
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.
