I saw that in Kijiji.ca

The guy is saying the boots are made «for agressive telemark turns».

(I hope you guys aren't too sensitive to my weird humour...) ;)

Thanks for the lead there GnarlyRod!

But I already own a pair of those rockingly-agressive Alfa Vulcs. You might be surprised to learn that the soles on those is stiffer than my newer Alfa Advance 75mm (very similar to the Alaska 75mm in fact). They are a great classic vintage boot.

Its amazing how the construction on these boots holds after sooo many years. The soles don't appear glued on, but rather melted or fused to the leather upper. No delamination.

+ at 688gr per sz42 boot, they are lighter than the Alfa Guard that is all the rage this year. And given the basic 3pin is lighter than the NNN-BC binding....well...I think you are on the something, this could very well be the holy grail of lite XCD!

And keep in mind these make the prettiest combo with cotton knickers and wool socks.

Get 'em if you can and lets have a blast.

Aggressive turns?!?

Aggressivity and stiffness are for madmen and thugs. Poles apart from the very essence of telemark. Everybody knows XCD is all about softness, technique, grace and finesse... Not aggressivity and stiffness... 8-)

It's no surprise that some people are destroying their boots or need resoling...

Hi Johnny. Or course, aggressiveness is all the joke here. Smooth creamy turns make us feel like princesses in bliss.

When it comes to boots though, like all THINGS, they are bound to break up and disintegrate. Such is life. Princess boots are either destroyed because they are poorly built (like most modern glued soles, cheap synthetic leather stitching, etc.) or already really old (like 30 year norwegian welts pulled out of someone else's closet. That rubber sole, just like our backs, gets stiff and sore as time passes).

Sounds like you have enjoyed you winter retreat. Welcome back.

Thank you very much! But that was just a brief outing to update my reviews after a whole season... I had so much fun on all these Asnes masterpieces... Back to my cave now... ;)

(I might be back again this summer when the new 2020 Asnes Katalog will be out... 8-) )

Have fun with Rod at TeleKampQC this week!
(4 posts left until you turn into a Knight...! Congratulations in advance!)
