Newbie
Hey just a quick question. Got a pair of Fischer excursion 88s this fall. Haven’t used them yet due to lack of snow in my area. I am second guessing my choice in length. I’m 5-9 165lbs and I got the 189 length. I normally ski flat rolling terrain in the Canada Maritime provinces and will normally be skiing with a pack. Just wondering if I should have gotten the 179s? Thanks in advance

You're all set
Re: Newbie
Thanks I was having severe buyers remorse lol
Re: Newbie
I'm 190 with similar skis, but won't have much in the pack, so we may total the same weight, or close. Should be fine.
Re: Newbie
Just be aware I haven't skied them yet, so there's no expertise here! Shared optimism, maybe.
I got 189 Fischer S Bound Outabound 88s second hand, unused.
Re: Newbie
189 is rated for 176-231 lbs. The weight is meant to be after you are all dressed up with boots and everything. You will be close to that before you even put your pack on. People suggest getting the bigger size or even sizing up for better glide, float, and less scale drag.

Great insight. No snow in the long range thoughJohn Dee wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 6:25 pm189 is rated for 176-231 lbs. The weight is meant to be after you are all dressed up with boots and everything. Hello and welcome Newbie!

Just curious- is there a reason for why you are concerned that the 189cm 88 is too long?
