DIY Heel Lift for Rottafella BC Magnum bindings
Hello dear community!
Does anyone have experience in building themselves some DIY heel lifts to install on Rottafella BC Bindings? Or is there an existing add-on to this binding that I can purchase? I was thinking about a 2" wood block with velcro straps, any other idea?
I finally had a chance to try out my new gear (Fischer S-98 with Rottafella BC Magnum Bindings and Madshus Vidda backcountry ski boots) on a nice small hill in Quebec area (Mt Alta in Val-David) reserved for ski touring (no lifts, about 500ft height which I typically climb 4-5 times a day).
Had a blast getting to familiarize myself with the much more technical setup than my previous telemark regular bindings with Scarpa T-2 - really really fun in the powder in the woods, and very difficult in the moguls
Going up with Fischer's easy-skins was awesome, it climbs very well! However, even though it's only about 10-12 minutes to go up, it's quite steep and I felt it would be a lot easier with some Heel Lifts... anny suggestion will be highly appreciated!

See here for what I'm doing: https://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic. ... 987#p46987, this is just putting a Voile heel on with 58 mm wire. As you can see from that thread, the hard-asses will say you don't need a lifter, but I'm with you, it sounds nice for going directly up fall lines.
I'm also not sure if the hole pattern for Voile heels is same as NNN-BC, as I'm sure you'd like to not drill new holes in the skis. I could check soon for you.
When I was thinking of DIY approaches I had the idea of a hard rubber block wedge that was T-slotted to slide onto the outside overhang/lip on the NNN-BC heel. I went with the Voile heel so never tried fabbing this, though. Anecdotally I think others here use bungies to strap some sort of block to the boot heel, but not sure exactly how this is done.

I've retrofitted these from Altai to nnnbc.
Nothing special but worked fine.
You'll need both the heel piece and the wire, sold separately.
