There are three types (Zero, Tsurugi 2999, Yakushi 2926) and each has three types depending on wooden materials and their layer patterns. The dimensions of all nine types are almost the same.
Price: approx. 570 USD

Unfortunately, the skis are made-to-order and may be available in Japan only.

I checked some Japanese sites but found that the skis were not sold to the public.

However, some Tele junkies borrowed the skis and tried a test-drive:

It looks like the topsheets are for preventing scratching or easy removal of sticking snow.

The ski designer says that he regretted the durability of the last version of BD Saint Elias and then carefully chose wooden materials and layering for longer use.

Good videos… thanks. The military guys are novices but that’s OK. Everyone starts at the bottom. Presume that the portion showing the levels on a pyramid is talking about military ski training in Japan following the Japanese Ski Association levels.

The arc of the “scales” has the potential of meeting the snow at 90 degrees along some part of it, regardless of the angle of attack. Might be of some use herringboning.

The top sheet appear to be painted wood, not capped polyester. This is like the old USGI, which is still in inventory and use by a few countries’ militaries.

The data point on this being military only ski will be added to the database.

The skis are designed mainly for skinny downhill because there is no traction pattern on them.
