My Crispi CXP broke -- Fixable?

Post by rongon » Sat Nov 25, 2023 8:51 pm

My favorite Crispi CXP boots had a breakdown today. The river/pivot thing (I don't know what it's called) popped out of the boot today on the ski hill, and the parts were lost.

Can anyone tell me what the missing part is called?

Anybody have ideas on how to fix this?

PS - I can't just buy a new pair of NTN boots or Scarpa T2 ECO, because they don't fit me. The only plastic tele boots that fit my awful feet were the old Crispi CX series (CXA, CXP, etc.), which are long gone/discontinued. This is the one pair of CXPs I bought new, from the Fey Bros. in CT/NH. I spent a lot of time and money getting the shells fitted, so I don't want to just throw the boots out. I'm motivated to try to save this pair. Hoping...

Call Telemark Down they are are Crispi dealer. It’s the cuff pivot, probably a sex bolt, washer, bolt assembly. If they can’t help you, I’m sure the guys at Freeheel Life could ship you Scarpa parts.
Even if you can’t find the right stuff, a sex bolt (Chicago bolt) a washer and corresponding flat head screw, with some lock Tite will have you back in business.
I’m betting Fey Brothers hook you up!

Ah... "Cuff pivot". Thank you.
I've emailed both Telemarkdown and Freeheel Life.

Fingers crossed...

Fey Bros/Telemarkdown hooked me up with replacement Cuff Hardware, and at a reasonable price to boot.

Yay!
