To account for those radius differences there has to be flex/rocker thing going on, I would say the cambers are probably all very different.

Hey- just noticed these posts! For some reason I am no longer getting email notifications...

I have been in communication with a dude out in southeastern BC that has a pair of Storetinds and has flexed the Falketind 68s in the shop at the Norseman in Calgary- he claims that the FT68 has a softer, rounder flex than the Storetind- he was actually a little disappointed and is ordering the Rabb 68 instead...

The softer, rounder flex would certainly shorten the effective edge, and reduce the turning radius...

Perhaps the updated Rabb 68 has gone back to a stiffer flex like the Storetind?

Rabb 68180cm104-68-9420m
Not a big difference you will say... But at 172cm, the radius on the Rabb is 15,8m while it's 18m on the Falketind. Quite noticeable on snow for that length...
Not sure if I am following you- doesn't the FT68 have a shorter turning radius than the Rabb68?

I am thinking with Woods- I don't think that the difference in turning radius are due to sidecut- I think that they are due to differences in rocker-camber-flex profile. That FT68 must have a shorter effective edge than the Rabb68...

There is enough tip rocker on the Storetind to fundamentally effect the sidecut profile of the ski's effective edge.

I will have to measure the width of the Storetind at its most forward point of effective edge- it is certainly much narrower than 103mm...

As an alternate comparison- Voile's Ultravector vs. V6:

Ultravector 177cm (130-96-114mm): 19.5m turn radius
V6 178cm (131-99-111mm): 18.5m turn radius

The roccker-camber-flex of the V6 gives it a shorter turn radius despite having less sidecut- the V6 is a smeary powder ski- the Ultravector offers more charging-carving edge-hold for more variable snow.

I am guessing that dude out in BC is correct- I think the FT68 was "spooned-up" and has a softert-rounder-more open rocker-camber-flex than the Storetind and the perhaps the updated Rabb68...

Oops, yes, my bad, it's the other way around... FT68 15.8m / RB68 18m

Anyway, my point wasn't about what makes the radius difference, but simply to clarify for potential buyers that these 3 models might actually be quite different from each other... I wouldn't want to mislead people... I don't think they are the same as we speculated...

The only significant change probably means more than we think...

Yeah...any idea what to expect with the Rabb68?
