Is there anything more stupid than heading for a backcountry trip to an unknown location the day after a warm 10°C, on a -10°C day?

At first sight, this could be the most dumped thing to do and I was willing to do it as long as I had a partner. I called up Johnny and asked him if he was willing to follow me? He answered yes without a doubt.

When I picked him up he proposed an XCD tour... Are you out of your fucking mind? If you do it, I'll do it...

It could be worse, I could be working. The light snow dust they had overnight in Sutton turned out to be 1-2 inches a few kilometers south in the USA. Everything is always better in the United States!

We quickly made it to the summit. The view made our day. From the top of the mountain, we could see Sutton in the backcountry.

The woods were pretty clean for a "natural" place.

This place has a lot of potential. The refrozen crust under the new snow did make it hard most of the time.

Did I mention it was a sunny day?

After a few rides we decided to continue our roadtrip toward Jay Peak.

Jay always been one of my favorite ressort. The terrain over there is just amazing and mood on the mountain has soemthing special.

Thanks to their uphill policy, we could head up without a problem.

My legs were already injured from our previous trip, Buck woods just killed them.

After a short coffee break we realized we still had time for some turns in Sutton on our way back. We headed to Sutton to finish the day.

Looks like a good day of adventure.
yup, those +10 to -10 days can make interesting snow conditions.

Guides + Leather Boots + Packed Powder? Amazing!

How much cocaine was in that coffee? That was a heck of a day!

Lol, believe me not a single trace of cocaine was in my coffee. As for Johnny, I doubt he touches that kind of stuff, it probably contains gluten or animal protein:)

Johnny is just s ski bump living like each day was the last of his life. On my side I'm trying hard to live like each day was the second last day of my life.

You should join us for the next trip. Any vacation next week?

Haha - I can take vacation pretty much whenever but I couldn't keep up with you guys! You guys are experts, I'm just a novice with that kind of stuff. Even cocaine would not help me.

Think Johnny will be alive in 10 years? I might be able to keep up with him then...

It's not about keeping up with us... I'm not an expert yet. Johnny's my mentor. One day I'll be as good as him but that not the point. When we go out, it's has nothing to do with how good we are, it's all about how much fun we have, and believe me, we have fun every single time we ski together. There is an interesting system in sight for the Laurenians this week end. Who knows the traectory might shift a little bit south and you could have your share of the dump too. Have yout passport ready :

Dude, you need to do something about your camera... It's terrible...! (I'll try not to forget mine next time...) Now forget about compressors, sprinklers and stuff and bring your fat ass here next week and I'll show you what XCD is all about...!

Thank God we're not experts, or else we would be instructors thinking NTN and Black Diamond are the coolest things... We're just a bunch of funny guys from outer space having fun skiing unbreakable frozen crust.

Isn't that the way we all should live? Think about it, what would you do if it was your very last day? Or your very last week? Plumbing? Welding? Life's just way too precious to work... (Especially on sunny days...)

And yep, please join us next time Mike...!

Hahaha - man you guys are too much!

Well I'm glad you aren't experts, otherwise you'd be ranting on telling everyone else how to do it! Thank... God? ;)

Thanks for the second set of pictures... made my day!
