Help with posting photos?

Haven't had any success with trying to post pics here... I'm not all that digitally fluent. Using Imgur as a host site for the photos, on an iMac. Tried a search for threads on the subject, but came up with nothing. Is there a "how to" or something I can access?

I download to my desktop if it is a pic I don't have in the computer already. If the pic is from my Google Pictures I crop it a touch first to be sure it wont post sideways. Hit "attachments" tab below next to "options". Click "add files" button. Choose the file. Hit the "Place in line" button. Hit preview to see it and then hit submit button. Let's see if that works. Yep.

I have photos on Flickr.com so I get the url to my photo and then click on the Img button above and then paste the url in between the Img tags and press Submit

That didn't work for me using Google Photos. If the site hosting the pics goes away or changes so will the picture.
