Find some soft snow 5cm to 10cm to kick along in. The ski preserves a wax pocket in soft snow and comes to life with just a small amount of soft snow.
The wax pocket will drag on hard pack, but you will forget about that once you point them downhill. The ski loves to turn, and it holds an edge.

Nice skis Danylewich. Do you ever ski near the east shore of Lake Huron / Georgian Bay ? I know there is nice terrain there. However you may have nicer terrain closer to Toronto.

I'm going to try and keep them at the office and never bring them home to avoid revealing them to my wife! Georgian Bay, do ski there quite a bit. More Northern Ontario has great skiing too, near Sudbury or Lake Superior. I tend to go east to Quebec however.

Hello
First time with my FT62 !
First feeling...

I use the 180cm. I'm 177cm and 80kg.
I try to find the best "flat" mountain but the lack of snow don't give me a lot of choices...

I did "the Croix de Chamrousse", a very popular alpin touring hiking.
You will see every informations in the attachments.

Going uphill :
Everything is going well. The short skins work very well.
Very light ski. The flex is pretty firm.
Good in the devers (side slope).

Going downhill :
Very fast ski !
We feel the tail very well. I think I will tune the edge to get more drift feeling.
Easy to initiate the turn.
In the pow (20cm), it's a plaisure !

I have to ski them more than one time to give you a good review.

Spectacular terrain and snow!
The FT62 is an amazing xcD ski- you and I are very similar in height and build- I am 5'10" and 185lbs- I have the 188cm FT62- but it is the older version.
What binding and boot are you using with the FT62?

Woods- where are you headed with the FT62 on Monday? You mounted the 3-pin Traverse? Which boot are you going to use?

Hy lilcliffy,

I'm using NNNBC Magnum and Alaska.
The Madshuss Glittertind seems to be more powerfull for the downhill.
Maybe I will buy them...

The other boot to consider is the Crispi Svartisen BC- softer and smoother sole flex than the Alaska BC, loads more ankle support than the Alaska.

The new FT62 looks to have a significantly different-shaped tip than mine- the tail is different too.
