Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
Sweet!! I miss the feel of a waxed ski. We have gotten so much snow in the past 2 days that the Interstate 90 to the ski lifts has been closed 10 times. 20 mils and 3500' higher. So for the 2nd time in 5 years I can head out the back door.
Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!
The trail in the back yard heads into the mountains and passes right by the chairlift. 26 miles away.

Small world indeed. We're 4 miles down from Rattle Snake Lake. We can wave to passers by from the breakfast table.

I am beginning to see that fat skis make the most of small hills too.Lo-Fi wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 11:06 amLove the tracks.lowangle al wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 6:06 amIMG_0900.JPGIMG_0903.JPG
Some East Coast turns on my new favorite East Coast set up. I don't think there was enough cover for a ski in the mid 50s
Fat skis make the most of thin snow.

This isn’t so much a skiing picture as an ornithology picture. Although skiing was involved.
I saw an eagle this morning while I was out skiing.
This is a sea eagle, or 'erne' (Haliaeëtus albicilla). You might have to zoom in to see it.
Token very shit skiing picture for those who don’t care about birds:
We finally got some of the snow you Canadians have been hoarding. So I went skiing, on my skis.

Today was cold. -8F. Snow was deep and light. Too bad a ton of skiiers beat me to it. This place is farmed out.
The first photo was taken from below the notch along the ridge located in the upper right of the picture with the old mine building.
