Sometimes you have to share the goods... but I am not sure those guys thought the same when they had fun with their snowmobiles... not complaining... just sharing my sadness

My character is all built out.....but you're right. I have to laugh when people out west complain about "icy" conditions. It's not ice unless you can read a newspaper through it! No one has edge control like a midwest or east coast skier.Landscraper wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 11:40 pmIt’s not much but it’s ours. “Builds character.”Woodserson wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 8:25 pmThank you for this. Nice to see some dust at least on top of what little base we have here in New England. Nothing in the middle of New Hampshire.
Some great pics on this thread! Woot Snowbird! Alaska! Hell yeah!

Don’t let sadness for what you don’t have, blur your vision for what you do have. I would be very happy to have that snow and hill close by. My close by open slopes are smaller, and while the yard has been white for a couple weeks, it’s not quite skiable. I got an inch yesterday, not enough to even make a gravel trail quite skiable.Nitram Tocrut wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 10:38 pmSometimes you have to share the goods... but I am not sure those guys thought the same when they had fun with their snowmobiles... not complaining... just sharing my sadness
I would think that hill would be fun to rock some big fast turns on those Rabbs or FT’s.

Luckily there are some of us who have only ever skied the east coast, and a select few who have never paid to skiMSU Alum wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 8:11 amMy character is all built out.....but you're right. Growing up in the SE and moving to the NE has definitely reinforced the idea that ignorance can be bliss AND antisocial preference (looking at you mad river) all at the same time

Got some old $50 consignment shop XC stix and hammered them this weekend. 215cm, longest skis I've run yet, absolutely adore them, grip great, glide nice, straight cut 51mm.

This is what happens when it’s fresh 1 to 5 F snow and you used swix Polar wax as a base coat. Then pushed through 2 miles of 6-8” powder. Next time I’ll wait a day or two for it to warm up
