Need gear beta after a lengthy hiatus
Don't let the handle fool you, I've been out of the free-heel game for about 10 years...that's a long sad story for another time. However, when I was still getting after it I'd considered myself a solid skier, off and on piste while living in AK and CO. But that was a decade ago, on stronger knees and in better all-around shape. These days I'll be on the confines of the hard pack with the family as I come home to a sport that I sorely miss.
Me, 175lbs, 6'0", medium build...I still easily fit in my old gear
I was running T1's back in the day on some K2 Piste Stinks, I think. I can't remember the dimensions or what I was running for a binding.
So without opening a complete can of worms, what say you about a good set up to get back to business?

Welp, I answered my own question.
I went with what I was used to for a boot, T1s. Vice bindings and Line, Sick Day 94 skis (179cm)

Good choice on the T1s and Vices. Don't know much about the Line Sick Days, but should be a good modern upgrade of the Piste Stinx.

Thanks!
I wasn't sure about the skis either and had actually never heard of them prior to a buddy recommending them. https://lineskis.com/en-us/p/sick-day-94
He raves about them and I found a Presidents Day deal for about 50% so I went for it. I couldn't find a bad review... I'll post up after I have some time on them with my thoughts (for what they're worth).

I also looked at them a few years ago (Sick Days) and everything I read about them was good. Once you're back in the saddle, I think you'll really like them.
I'd mount them boot center over the recommended mounting point as opposed to any older telemark specific algorithm.

That was actually my next question...regarding binding mounting positon. 22 designs Vice template here https://twentytwodesigns.3dcartstores.c ... mplate.pdf
Opinions on the exact location (forward/back) would be great! Again, I went with the Line 94, (179cm) Sick Days.
Thanks!
