Alpina Alaska real, real bad sizing...

Post by Rodbelan » Sun May 10, 2020 9:23 am

My GF bought a pair of Alpina Alaska 75. A real deal at La Cordée... But the sizing sounds phony;
—the box says size 40
—there is a sticker on the heel that says 40 but it is stuck onto another one that says 41
—under the insole, it is written size 42; when I measure the damn thing, it is 27,5 cm!
—on the fabric label sewn inside the boot there is a little sticker saying size 40, stuck to the label itself saying size 41.
If I compare to my Alpina BC 2175, the boot is definitely big, like a 41 or a 42 even...
What's that shit? I do not understand... A manufacturing error? Or just a way for Alpina to save on mold or matrix? Any cues?

R,

Sounds like they got confused at some point on the production like. Just keep in mind I have always found the original insole marked one size larger in the Alaska. It’s just the way they do it. But the weird stickers and all?

So what size is printed under the inner sole? Substract by one and see if that corresponds to the real size?

I’d try to return these to la cordée if they do not work out for you.

La Cordée? Man, do not try to join them, if you don't want to waist your time... I should tell you about my own order; a real disaster... I hope some day I can talk to someone there...

Like I said, under the insole, it is size 42, so, it would be a size 41 (?). Maybe... Sounds more like a size 42 from the length of the insole...

I’d say it’s probably a size 41 boot then? Don’t go by the length on the insole Alone, it’s tucked in really deep at the toes.

Things are tough during the pandemic, I’m sure things will get better at la cordée in a couple months. But yeah it sucks man

I bought 5 pairs of Alaskas from different years/versions without any sizing problems. I wouldn't badmouth Alpina... They are one of the finest sport company out there. I respect them a lot... But I sure would put the blame on the shitheads at LaCordee...

What the fuck are you talking about? Wait, don't tell me you are buying their bullshit too?!?

Dear friends, never believe what your see and read. LaCordee officially filed for bankruptcy in February. Their April sale is a hoax. They are simply stealing people's money as fast as they can to consolidate their own debts. And they process only a handful of orders from the most recalcitrant customers, hiding behind topical news and trendy excuses. A fraud, pure and simple. A brilliant one I must admit... I never really liked these guys anyway...

Johnny, had no clue about the la cordée Hoax. Sounds like I did get ripped off. Shizers

Can you link to the proof of bankruptcy or scam so that I may contact my credit card company with this for a claim?

Proofs? Just use common sense... Look at the numbers in La Presse... I hope our friends Asnes in Norway didn't lose too much... No need for any "buy local" bullshit anymore, the poor local manufacturers will NOT get their money anyway! La Cordee can legally continue to steal customers money without having to pay anyone...

Hey guys, I do not think it is a hoax... Cause they do not charge the stuff until it is at the post office. La Cordée is a real old cie. I still trust these guys. A couple of friends received their stuff in multiple shipments. As soon as the pack is sent, they charge it to their account.

And La Cordée put themselves under the law (se mettre sous la loi de la protection sur la faillite) to take an agreement with the creditors and reorganize the brand... It is frequent... It COULD be a hoax, but I am skeptical. I'll see; at this time I could block the future transaction by calling Visa...
