Took my new to me but really old Fischer Europa 99’s out for the second time. Reworked the grip wax for the new snow and cooler temps, really helped with the K&G. Stayed on the main trails mostly, then took them out in some small meadows for a little goofing around. Didn’t plan on it but ended up taking a short cut bushwhacking thru some trees. The light weight of the skis really made it easier getting over down trees compared to the USGIs I have. My Watermelon has a rind! One more thing, goodbye Rossi BC 70s. Enjoy!

Man pretty homestead, where is it?

What's the status, you just using pins up front and going for totally neutral downhill?

Same sort of curiosity here... It is as if there's something missing in that binding (mounting block and cables?). Thanks to calm down our weaselish observation...

What a month it's been! I have been skiing alot. 9 days in the last 10...and skiing tomorrow and monday too.

We had a few storms finally...as it has been a dry winter here in this part of Alaska compared to last year...the first major snowfall dumped 3 ft in a week and then on Thanksgiving day, we got 8 inches in less than 12 hrs.

Found some untouched, pristine, wide open areas...3000ft+ vertical and miles and miles of skiing. gentle to flat slopes and steep terrain. Still waiting for the snow to settle...most of it is still very deep dry sugar snow.

Sorry for the slow response.

Home is eastern Ontario Canada about 2 hours west of Ottawa on the slopes of what is known as the Opeongo Mountains. They are the nubs of once great mountains scoured down by many glaciations and now going to just over 400 m. My place is at 250 on the Bonnechere River drainage. It is rocky cliffy hilly country of forest regrown on once marginal farmland.

The skis are Karhu Storm BCs with the Trab Race toes, heel and pivot blocks from my second gen TTS setup. Skins are permanently attached and I use them for stomping around our 174 acres to try to be in some minimal shape for actually skiing. They are great for packing out a track for later xc skiing.

Krummholz,
Wow, your photos sure got my attention! Those photos show some favourite trails of mine that, unfortunately, I'm unable to ski right now. For a few years till 2019 I was spending the better part of winter in Grand County. Getting out every day either at Winter Park, Rocky Mtn. National Park, the trails behind the Granby ski hill, and in and around Fraser. Circumstances, unfortunately, have thrown a wrench or two into our spokes. No plans to leave home__ Ontario, Canada__any time soon. We hope to return to Grand County in the future, though.
Thanks for posting those shots. I see you've got a Youtube channel. I'll check it out.
