Congrats on your win, that is fantastic.
You can try moulding the boots on your own. I found a video where you heat them up with a sock full of rice heated in the microwave, I've also done it in the oven.

the boots are really old, and a size too big...and have a hole in the bellows, so need to be replaced. the padding that the boot fitter added yesterday for $20 helps. I did not feel my foot slipping today going uphill.

brrrrr. -15 windchill at the top. but...7" of fresh powder...
Re: Whitefish Mountain Feb 2021
surprise video today. something about this video is not like the others...hint, I got some loaner gear of a kind I've never used before...
Re: Whitefish Mountain Feb 2021
yikes, -11 this morning without windchill. its supposed so to warmup to 7F( without windchill) so I may go out later. next 2 days are supposed to be really cold
Re: Whitefish Mountain Feb 2021
well I went out after lunch and skinned the East route to the summit. its about 3 miles, 2500ft vert to 6700 elevation. it was about -1F when I started. I was very warm on the way up. thankfully I hit up a sweet ski consignment shop in Whitefish this morning( runner up sports) and bought a used Mountain Hardware shell. it was great to have. by the time I reached the summit, there was some wind and it was cold. I transitioned in the summit lodge and put on all the warm layers I had in my pack. there is nothing better than taking off some wet layers and putting on some nice cozy parka that is dry for the ski down. but skiing down 3,000 ft to get home was chilly.
