Looks like we have a curious case of the small game tracker. For me tracking is the more fulfilling aspect of hunting, even if I suck at both.

I couldn't judge the slope from the pics, thanks for explaining, so my initial thought was that it was caught by a hawk and dragged a few feet. Either way, evidence suggests that we have come across a highly spirited squirrel!

Here is one from today. This guy was making a left turn. You can see where he put out his right front paw and no left paw. The tail track or maybe his belly is deeper.

I hadn't thought about a mink evsdog, but I think they were classic squirrel tracks with big back feet and smaller front feet. I'll take another close look if I get a chance.

I'm still pretty sure he's pulling a tiny sled. when he gains speed, he just hops in.

I guess skiing squirrels is a thing. There is a book about it and I have a copy.
