How is having to pay $5k USD for health insurance going to feel as the 51st state?
I wonder how the border between NYS and the new state of Canada will work.
When the US was a democratic republic, free travel between the states was a right.

Lol. Health care is a joke here. I'll take an insurance policy any day. I pay approximately 2500 to 3500 dollars in taxes EVERY MONTH, just in income tax. On top of that theres gst, pst (not alberta), carbon tax, a thousand different services taxes. Taxes at every single level. For shit service. I did my yearly physical in November, my doctor saw me for literally 4 minutes. I went and got my blood work done, then got completely ghosted. Not a word from the doctor in months. Doesn't return calls. But I can't complain, as im one of the lucky ones that even has a family doctor. Emergency room waits are anywhere from 4 to 18 hours.

I do worry for people like my fiance who is in a long term survivor program for cancer. It would be a crapshoot getting insurance in a private system. But, I do believe there would be a two tier system negotiated in the event any of this nonsense materialized.

Well, good luck with that. I've had $22k of medical treatments in the past month that cost me nothing. Medicare paid what it should and the $175/mo supplement policy paid the rest. I paid $40 in office visit co pay. Sucks to be a Canadian I guess. Suggest you start learning the words to "America the Beautiful". It'll be sung before every NHL and MLB game.

Medicare and social security payments are the #1 target for Musk and the GOP to cut funding from. Worries me a bit.
