Do any of you know of the Andrew Greenland?
http://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.p ... =60#p25151
The lightest Leather 2 Buckle Norwegian Welt Telemark boot ever to have roamed this earth?!

Here's a pair in disguise, under the brand name Arkos:

Kinda ugly looking, almost alien-like, no?
I've read these bad boys will rip the skin off of Aussie ankles in a split second. But look at all that cush spandex padding! I can't believe a word of it!! Good thing, cause these ones are headed my way, I'm gonna play guinea pig with 'em! 8-)

They sure are. There's no other boot like it! Or eh, what?

Who copied who, exactly?

My Andrew PDF Catalogue was created in February 2012, the St. Moritz was in there.
I bought my pair of Alaskas in november 2013.
They were showcased in Alpinas Winter 2012-13 catalogue too:

Perhaps for the first time?

Who knows how this happened?

Yeah, I was also immediately struck with the similarity to the Alaska's (I have a pair myself). Looks like the St. Moritz might be a little more supportive though; the uppers on the Alaska's being so soft.

Maybe somebody saw Santa Claus wearing these boots on his sleigh circa 2013??? Maybe Adventure Nordique can be convinced to do an order of St. Mortiz......Andrew is playing on a different level, if you look closely you'll see the entire boot upper is cut from one single piece of cow! Nobody else does this.

Canna, I read another post of yours about that. My Alico Teletours seem to be put together just like that too, single piece of leather. I am assuming the piece of leather is cut and stitched behind the ankle? I read somewhere that Crispi boots are not cut and stitched behind the ankle, but rather off to the side, to reduce blistering....

EDIT: just checked my Sydpolens. They probably are stitched behind the ankle, can't say for sure...

yes, Antarctic has a seam on the side, that's not a bad deal though, Limmer boots are made the same way.

It seems like Andrew is using the best quality leather, just my impression but it seems more supple & flexible than my other boots.

I knew that the name "Andrew" sounded familiar. I just found an old email response from the company back in Jan 2006 when I almost bought some. In the end I went with the SNS X-Adv raid bindings and Salomon X-Adv boots instead. In hindsight that's too bad.

Here's the email response:
These are the requested information you need:

model weight price

North Rim 2,700 kg Euro 179,00
Expedition boukle 2,650 kg Euro 162,00
Ultimate 4,100 kg Euro 250,00

Prices include shipping costs.
As regards your size, we confirm your 43 Europe but you can also give us the
measurement of your feet in cm

Awaiting to hear from you.

Best regards

ANDREW srl
I don't know if they'd still sell directly if they had a big enough order.
