Re: Europe is a fucking joke

This is not, of course, happening in Europe. Germany is not part of Europe? No, Germany is in Europe. As am I. I am in Europe. I am in Copenhagen. I am looking out of my window right now, at a European street. Europe is not an 'Orewllian pussy nightmare'. Please stop this. Come back to reality. Or ...

Sweden Ja

Trip planned to Nord Trondelag in Norway was called off due to rain- rained on and off from January on, very odd. Moved the trip further north to Swedish Lapland and flew into Hemavan. Skied a loop from there to Ammarnas on the Kungsleden then back by skiing up the Vindel river and then turning sout...

Re: Anyone really psyched about their Hok style skishoes?

Our outdoor heritage is guided by the public lands legacy established by law over a century ago by visionary leaders. These foresighted individuals, President Theodore Roosevelt, Forester Gifford Pinchot, Naturalist John Muir and others understood the importance of taking action both for the sake o...

Re: warm in Norway

Tad warm this year in Norway, all these pics are from day off, a rest day at midpoint cabin, the rest was white-out or for or blizzard, but still great fun. The old tracks are our pulk tracks from previous day (night actually, arrived 1.5hrs after sun had set). Skied up our old tracks to the pass a...

Changes to Alfa Kikut

The Alfa Kikut Perform 2.0 has some changes. The ones I just got are in full-grain smooth leather (hooray), the prior version was in notoriously thin Nubuck. Not having owned a previous pair I am not sure what else has changed on this boot. Very comfortable but there is zero push-back on the forward...

Re: Anyone really psyched about their Hok style skishoes?

PS were you an NPS or NFS ranger? I was a Minnesota State Park Ranger for 13 years, a USFS Backcountry Ranger for 3 years, and a county park ranger for 10. I was kind of like the main character on "The Rookie." I finally got a ranger job when I was in my mid-30s. That's great! Nice career working o...

Re: Sporten: a new player on the nordic backcountry ski scene

Hi They may seem like a new player on the retail North America scene but apparently made in a long standing factory in Czech. Doing some digging I have come up with some interesting info revealing that currently all the Asnes skis are made in the same factory as the Sporten line. European fabricati...

Re: Alfa vs Alfa

Finally!! Boot drama over for now. The size 46 Alpina Alaska was too long. Alpina really needs to release a model of this boot with a non-narrow toe box. They would probably double their sales. This year I am going with the Alfa Kikut 2.0 Perform. First impressions out of the box- It is very light, ...

Re: Bellows won't flex at all

Next time you are in Montana you should hit Bridger Bowl, nicest lit serviced skiing in the state and the vibe is much more laid back than the Vail-Associates vibe at BS. Re Lodge is top too! Going in March. And we actually are skiing Bridger Bowl one day. You might be hooked! Have fun!!
