Re: Anybody recognize these bindings?

That looks very similar to the setup I learned on. If they're in New England and on Atomic skis mid-170s they might be. They were great for mellow inbound learning runs. Not really appropriate for anything super steep or technical, but ideal for green an blue runs with T2-4s.

These are likely 15+ years old. Skied and still have these on old Karhu Jaks from 20 years ago and the main problem is that snow would build up under foot and cause the binding to release.

Re: Question about bindings

One of the better things about this place is the people, or at least that was the case on the old site. Seems there are always people at resorts or the BC with spare gear you can try for the day. Demoing is a great way to figure out what bindings work for you.

But you should go to Alta instead. http://www.utahstate.com/park-city-quick-start "PLEASE NOTE: the Park City Quick start will NOT be offered for the 2013/2014 ski season. However we have a "Ski Free on Day of Arrival" alternative at Al...

Re: Canyons Conditions

Granted the forecast could be very wrong, but we're expecting 2-3 feet in the next few days.

Re: Canyons Conditions

The past couple of days have been pretty decent. Fast groomers and you can get in the trees or hike above 8500' with decent snow. I'm there most days, drop a pm if you need a tour guide. It's a big place and I can point out some place to hike that won't kill you.

Re: Canyons Conditions

Anyone that can accurately predict what the snow will be like a couple weeks out could make millions in the ski industry. I skied Canyons today. I've seen worse years. It's a dry year o far, but decent to good skiing is pretty dependable in Utah in February.
