Re: Joining NATO
FB has lost almost all value for me as well. Groups is a good place for interacting with people of common interest. I'm in a few WWII Unit history groups, motorcycle racing and ski groups that I get benefit and entertainment from. Never used FB for news myself. What Elon sends me on X is currently a...

Re: Joining NATO
Covid. No parties We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary like a couple of newly weds at an Airbnb with a private beach next to a Native American cemetery. Strange times indeed. Just heard a scholarly someone opine on the subject. Basically that with humans, doing dirty deeds is easier if the Gov...

Re: Joining NATO
Being a hobby historian of the events, I take into account the chronology of events happening and factor in human nature. Sacrificing everything, business, family and life, to defy the SS at that time before the Holocaust was known would be abnormal behavior IMHO. My father went into Buchenwald with...

Re: Joining NATO
Interesting take. It would be nice if everything was so black and white. My grandfather left Galicia in 1910 to come the the US. My Polish surname translates to "Hillbilly" Grandpa was definitely a pretty ignorant country bumpkin. Question. My wife's family owned a restaurant in Timmerlah. Ever...

Re: Joining NATO
My wife's cousin was in the SS and lost on the Eastern Front so I've done a bit of research as WWII is my hobby. IMO, the media blew the real story with that Uke Nazi soldier. No one wanted to be "liberated" by Russian troops who they were historically at war with. And if the spit hits the fan, peop...

Re: Fake cougar attack
People are funny. What was that guy thinking. We have them going around and through the neighborhood all the time but they are ghosts. A dog got taken off the back porch 10 years ago. Then a cougar killed a bicycle rider 10 miles north of me about 5 years ago. Last month a pair of cougars cut up a b...

Re: Leather care for Alico, Asolo, etc. telemark boots
I've got some 50 yeaar old Merrells that have held up well with 50 years of treating with Sno Seal. I smear it on and use a hair dryer to warm it in. Asolo recommends a water-proofing impregnation spray these days.
