Rub on Wax review
Howdy, Just want to do a quick review on some of the rub on waxes I’ve tried for my fish scales and tip and tails. Swix F4 Liquid - Easy to apply. Glides well in most conditions. Almost too slick climbing more condensed snow. Doesn’t last very long. Issues with snow globbing in spring wet snow. Toko...

Re: Backpack for longer tours?
If you want an extremely light durable pack that is custom made check out Gavin’s work at Apocalypse Equipment. He is based in Jackson, Wyoming and made my pack. Has all the bells and whistles I need and still going strong after 3 years.

Just got my skis in. Made in China. Quality seems okay. Some minor top sheet issues. This site sucks for posting pictures.

Re: Changes in Fischer lineup?
I just bought the 78s. They are made in China. No skin holes and they now come in 199 length. The older ones were 196 max. I will post pic once the bindings show up. Currently they are at the shop. The Sound is now only 98. I think Fischer has hacked most of their BC line. Probably due to demand and...

Breathable Mid Layer
Howdy, I run extremely hot when touring. I often ski in a hoody base layer and soft shell pants. When I get cold I try throwing on my mid layer but end up getting way too hot and sweating like a pig. I tried the Pataguci R1 and Arc’teryx Proton but those are way too hot and end up taking them off. A...

Re: Binding mount on Fischer Traverse 78
I purchased the 78s in 199cm from my local Fischer dealer. I’m waiting on the Xplore bindings to show up. They mount the pins on the balance point. An alpine fat ski those are mounted using a boot center method. Speaking of which looks like the new Fischer 78s are now max length 199s and made in Chi...

Re: Wide Last Xplorer Boot?
Just got my Alfa boots in! They fit my feet like a nice tight glove. Glad I went with your guys recommendations. My heel feels locked and toe fits my wide feet much better than Alpina. Now I just need my skis and bindings! Another thought, due to the weight and feeling of these boots I’m strongly co...

Sleeping bag?
Any recommendations on what sleeping bag to buy for winter camping? My old down bag has too many holes and needs replaced and is frankly too heavy and bulky. I’m in Wyoming so our winters can be brutal.
Thanks!
