Re: Made my own skis…mounting advice?

Has anyone here had success using something like this…

…for mounting bindings? I’ve had a couple of holes ending up off-center despite careful measuring.

Re: More Bikes

LHartley, the trail I mentioned was Rails to Trails, nowhere near as busy as The Kettle Valley Trail. This site has a great map of what’s available… https://www.bcrailtrails.com/ …I think it would be a helluvalotta fun to jump on a mountain bike in June (before tourist season gets insane) and explor...

Re: The Alberta XCD thread

Thinking about getting a pass for Pass Powderkeg in Blairmore this year. Short days but it gives the opportunity for a few hours of dedicated practice time.

Re: Made my own skis…mounting advice?

Impressive, something I very much want to try.

Have you checked Telewiki on this forum? Theres a couple of articles about selecting mount location, a couple that are NNNBC specific, and and article with templates.

Re: Altai Tao

Hopefully a little bit of floatation would be gained. I’m heavyish and bury the Hoks no problem (my lightweight spouse on her 125 Hoks ‘floats’ in similar conditions). I think a longer skin ski would give me a bit more control (Hoks have given me numerous faceplants over the years), particularly dur...

Re: Fischer Traverse Boots for Xplore Binding

Hey Theme- I come in around #220 so I don’t have difficulty keeping the ball of my foot down with any boot 🤣. I just put on both boots you’d mentioned. The Pi Tech does flex/keeps the foot down considerably easier. I found it very supportive and was really pleased with the way it could drive differe...

Re: Another Kom Binding Question

I came across a pair of F3’s the previous owner softened up quite a bit. Going to try them with TTS on my Koms this year.

Re: Altai Tao

Daaammmnnn- that might be the ideal ski for the trail I’ve been cutting in for my commute to/from work. Leaving home there’s a steep climb up an elk trail then a stretch of abandoned logging road with lotsa ups n’ downs then a steep descent down an old mining access trail. I figure for the time bein...

Re: More Bikes

Nice to have that so close to you wooley12. Reminds me of a reclaimed rail bed that stretches from Salmo to Nelson in the Kootenays. The last 10 km near Salmo is the kind of area you’d expect to hear banjos playing. Its only 48 km long, if we get the snow that is being talked about I’d be up for put...
