Irrelevant Xplore Musings

Mounted a 1st Gen Voile Transit binding on my Koms yesterday. Grabbed an Xplore binding and boot and goofed around with what ifs…the hole centers for Xplore and Transit are both apart 26 mm apart width wise. Pin center of Xplore using the Transits rear mount is 24(ish) mm behind Transit pin center. ...

Re: First Test of Transit Binding Plate

Any pictures of this setup to have a look at John?

I put a Transit on my Koms yesterday and went out with the new Scarpa TXPro for awhile. Despite the ice crusted snow (tained yesterday) the combination felt pretty good, looking forward to trying them out in better conditions.

Guess it would have to wait until the Rottefella patent runs out…maybe Rottefella might look at option...

Re: Voilé and Kästle selling XCD in North America

Had another peep at these when I stopped at Spry. When I was comparing the scale section to the Fischers they have stocked I’m gonna go out on a limb and say they’re identical (with the exception of colour). The scales have the same tooling marks, pattern, and feel between the two skis. While the Re...

Re: Peltonen Metsä Step 270

Little bit of a bummer, kinda damaged the back tip of the Metsä today. Can’t say I’m too surprised by it, likely happened when I was bushwhacking a new route in. Wish there was some kind of guard back there (think its referred to as a rental protector)) biut having said that I’ve broke those as well...

Re: Help! Where can I get Xplore-ready boots in Canada?

Demers Bicycle in Quebec has a huge variety available. Oberson in Quebec has a couple of different pairs. SPRY in Blairmore has Rossi. La Cordee has an Alpina boot. Norseman in Calgary has Rossi. Just Google the boot you’re interested in and add Canada to the search. Really like my Alpina Pi Tech, f...
