Re: Ski to fill the Gap

Woods, leaving out the MT51 wasn’t intentional, and how could I miss your secret love, the E99! :) Maybe that’s the answer I’m looking for. And, I was just looking for a sort of middle ground, based on the use-case I laid out, between the MR48 and FT62. Nothing more than that. Not that it’s their p...

Re: NNN vs NNN-BC on 50ish waisted XC touring skis

Where do folks buy Alfa Guards in Canada? For a 44 Alpina Alaska NNNBC, how would this translate to the Alfa Guard?

Re: Ski to fill the Gap

Cool table, I've done the same thinking. I've got Borges Ousland and FT62. Very good pairing for me. Then I've got my skinny track skis at 43mm waist, currently Madshus, but I was thinking I'd replace eventually with MR46 or MR 48 to be my dedicated track skis. I had the Nansen, but did not love it,...

Re: Alpina Alaska real, real bad sizing...

If La Cordee is not in business for long, where will fellow Canadians get their Asnes skis going forward? I've ordered three pairs from La Cordee in the prior three years and they were great. What to do now for Asnes skis?

Re: Lets talk about your pole..s

Also have Asnes Ingstad, very well made. Bomber. Have BD Alpine Carbon Corks, find they don't extend long enough for me for cross-country, only go to 130, maybe 135. Not even long enough for downhill for me at 6'1". Also have Fisher BCX adjustable poles, like those a fair bit. Probably the ultimate ...

Re: Pole Length

Asnes website says your height in cm's minus 35-40cm. This puts it right at the armpit for me, which is just right for backcountry xc. If I am doing track skiing with long kick and glide, I like them a little longer, more to ball of shoulder.

Re: Seeking Guidance On A New Setup

Agree, have the same Ingstad pole. Great grip and strap design. I am 6'1", got 145cm. Seems just right.

Re: Åsnes Borge Ousland BC Ski Review

Seems to be the series of little ribs underneath the side wings that were catching. I'm thinking the Manual might not have those little ribs?
