Re: asnes nansen delamination :(
I think this is eminently repairable with epoxy and clamps. It looks straightforward enough, assuming the edges are straight and it's just what it looks like in the pictures. But for a new pair of skis I'd be inclined to drop Åsnes a note with some pictures. This isn't usual. Åsnes's customer servic...

Re: Length: Mountain Race 48 Skin
Yes, the metal edges are for helplessly exiting the trail at a random angle control going downhill (edit: on scary ice), and for straighter tracking. The MR48 is the re-jigged Holmenkollen ski, basically designed with the Åsnes Expedition Amundsen race in mind (super light, good for distance, metal-...

Re: Length: Mountain Race 48 Skin
Oh, if you're on the cusp of the two lengths I definitely recommend getting the longer ones for the MR48s. Especially if you're mostly on tracks. The Skins are awesome for insta-skiing and zooming around in difficult conditions. But the MR48s are very easily squishable if you're caught between the s...

Re: Lundhags Boots
How to size them? I like my new Crispis in 40, the Alpina 1600 are a little snug in the forefoot and would be better at 40.5, but I fear my heel would slip in 41, my old (80s? 90s?) Crispi Mountain are 40 but I can only wear a thin sock and I think a 41 would have worked, and Alico Ski March is a U...

Re: Lundhags Boots
e. So basically, you don't think the added height is that big a deal for skating? What about for telemark turns, as I would probably also use a stiffer boot like one of the two Lundhags to power Kongsvold when we have deep enough powder. No, I really don't, personally. I'd prefer a taller shaft on ...

Re: Lundhags Boots
@lilcliffy, could I trouble you to possibly measure the height to the top of cuff of both Guide and Expedition? Also, which would be better for ice skating? I would think Expedition due to higher cuff, but only if its stiffness is significant. Unfortunately I waited too long on Expedition at Varust...

I'll happily accept the blame for this.
