Re: Telemark Technique

My opinion one great turn in the bush is equivalent to a day at a ski area. TM That's reasonable, once you have the skills. In the early stages, the kind of repetition you can get lift served, can make it easier to develop them. Even a day or 2 dedicated to developing the "turn" can help quite a bi...

Re: Telemark Technique

Lack of gear progression? Who needs it? There is already enough gear available that is suited for everything from the golf course to extreme terrain, and it all works. Besides that, Voile just came out with a new binding. How much innovation has there been in alpine bindings lately? Agree mostly, t...

Re: Rottefella are you out there listening?

I do understand and appreciate their patent defense but I also know it isn't always necessary to be an asshole. Honestly, it's the Chinese, not people like me they need to be worried about. How does Rottefella know who you really are, who you work for or with? Industrial espionage is a real thing h...

Re: the Nordic Ice Skating Thread

Hi @CwmRaider, what lake where on? Do you prefer the stiff flexor for skating? I have actually not thought about or tried it as I find the normal flexor very nice, but may have to try now. I was at Gjevillvatnet (middle of Norway) yesterday. 6-10+ cm of smooth ice, but not all of the lake had ice t...

Re: the Nordic Ice Skating Thread

Out with Lundhags T skates, Alfa Free and Xplore with hard flexors. Not breaking any speed barriers but I was very pleased with the overall results :) My skates were previously mounted with NNN-BC, remounting them to Xplore required a bit of drilling, and threading three holes. It was quite a quick ...

It's really interesting from a social observation viewpoint how closed and cliquey this community is for something that considers itself "dying". Like, why do that?
Examples of this please.

Anyone know where the Crispi Futura/Pro XP boot are for sale?
In Norway apparently 15 November. I've seen the Futura pro XP for a higher recommended retail price than the Alfa Free, meaning it should better be good.

Re: Skis/binding advice for Norway and Switzerland

Hi, On Hardangervidda you would probably (depending on recent snowfall) be following tracks made by previous skiiers, whereas in the Jura probably partly groomed tracks? I'd say for Hardangervidda a ski like the Gamme / TN66 / Ousland / Amundsen is ideal. In groomed tracks any steel edged skis will ...
