I've got a pair of Piste Stinx skis with 3 pin cables and skins, you can try but I'm in Coeur d'Alene ID. All you'd need would be boots stiff leather or T4s and you're all set up. Not true XCD but pretty good for the Big Sky area.

Just in case you come west, 2 of our local ski areas are on the pass, and some close road trip areas too.

It only bothers me on the first turn and I adjust, more like heavy slippers nowadays but years of BC on mine.

I still use an old pair of Candy Cane T-race to hike with and no cracks yet.

Practicing on stopping in control and looking good is a great exercise especially for the weaker turn side. Just guessing but I think he is referring to is focusing on pressuring the back foot especially the little toe.
