Re: WAX HELP, PLS!!

All these wax kit suggestions are really good. Here in Colorado I carry colder waxes most days--I like Rode waxes, but all brands are similar--Rode Super Blue for 60% of the days, Green, and then Special Green for really cold days. In warmer weather I will sub out the greens and carry Violet Extra o...

Re: How to tele: 3-pin only

Like several others here, I learned to tele ski with leather boots and 3-pins on minimal sidecut 1980's tele skis. At the time, we all flatly rejected the whole idea of cable bindings. Fwiw, excellent application of leather boot/3 pin tele skills is very thoroughly discussed in Paul Parker's tome :F...

Re: Uh oh. Norrøna skis.

Well, I knew I'd seen Norrona hardgoods, just had to jar the memory. Norrona did make/sell XC boots and shoes in the distant past... I think I'll keep searching but there were probably bindings as well. Norröna is not the same brand as Norrøna. Logo is different, font is different, spelling is diff...

Re: When do skis go on sale?

REI now has their 21-22 skis up on their website. Sadly, no Äsnes. Good luck.

Re: When do skis go on sale?

If you're in the Denver area, I'd watch for sales at the smaller outdoor shops that might have inventory from last season; also check frequently with resellers like "Play it again Sports" who seem to always have some used gear, esp. in Boulder; https://www.playitagainsports.com/home Also Boulder Spo...

I was just looking at fischersports.com

They are showing the price of the NNN-BC binding as $11,598.84 (4 payments of $2900). I'm sure glad I don't need a pair this season. :)

Re: Help with GEAR for newb FIRST POST

The USGI strap-on skins are a real PITA to use. They're very time consuming to install and remove, with all the straps to fasten/unfasten. Those straps will freeze up with ice and are hard to adjust, remove, etc. Plus,. snow and ice tend to build up between the skins and the ski base...and the skins...

Re: Uh oh. Norrøna skis.

Norrona was known for low end "price point" and "package" XC skis and metal edged touring skis in the US many years ago. I wasn't aware they still existed; haven't seen the brand in years and years. Norrøna is an institution in Norway. Their stuff is really excellent, but they walk a very tight lin...
