Re: WAX HELP, PLS!!

I'm also curious about this concept (glide wax under grip wax). After a ski is glide waxed, there should be almost no wax left on the ski: - Hot wax - Scrape - Brush I tried a lot of different techniques last year. One of them was to glide wax the entire ski, then iron in either polar or base wax in...

Re: Asnes Falketind 62 versus Rabb 68

I don’t know if it matters, but it looks like xcdski ’s comments are based on the 2017/18 skis (red and white)? He had them for sale back in 2018. https://www.telemarktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2378&p=26323#p26323 On the FT62 there are three iterations of the ski, red and white, green and white, a...

Re: Complete skiing. Near perfect continuity between flats, uphills and downhills.

Lo-Fi makes a good point and distinction between new boots and re-treating used boots. It might be better to wait to waterproof the boots, although I have the impression that many here have treated new boots. It might do no harm to treat new boots, but if Lo-Fi has more info on that, I would be cur...

Re: Complete skiing. Near perfect continuity between flats, uphills and downhills.

I’m a little reluctant to post this, rather than PM FourthCoast , but what the heck… I have been doing pretty much that. My variations are: - To put something heavy in the boots, and place them in a sink full of water to soak for maybe an hour (being sure to keep the water level below the point wher...

Re: Tell a story

It’s all good if nothing is broken!

I wonder, where do people from the USA fall on the scale of “worse-ness?”
Or, is it Norwegians, then Danes, and then everyone else?

Re: Asnes Ingstad users question

I would be interested to know what the shop quotes to repair the bases. Do the serial numbers on the skis match? That would be interesting if they do. Glad you are feeling ok about the skis. Also, you may want to try the race skins before you buy the nylon. I bought a set of mohair and a set of nylo...

Re: Asnes Ingstad users question

What you do depends on: 1. How much the skis cost (how good of a deal were they?); 2. What your skiing goals and expectations are (modest or hard core / ideal ski setup or “good enough”) 3. What your other options are (you say skis are hard to get whee you live). These skis could work just fine if y...

Re: Asnes Ingstad users question

I don’t know for sure, but that ski looks like maybe a pre-production prototype.
You can see the current model here:
