Re: The Saw-Sal-Way.

Yes, those were my Kom's.

I skied those through the Sawtooths and then switched to the OB/BC's where we crossed the highway.

I carried a battery brick to recharge the camera batts along the way.

The Saw-Sal-Way.

A unique traverse of Idaho, using skis and packrafts.

Re: Shift Plates?

I used a pair this winter to figure out where I wanted my bindings to live before permanently mounting them.

Ideal for that.

With the grain and then a few strokes warm iron is what I do.

Thanks. How long does it last?

I have a ~150-mile tour coming up in early April, mid-elevation Idaho, where daytime temps will likely be 35-55*f.

These are fine liners for 2 clip boots and the price is right. It might be worth the try as they are what, like 10 times cheaper than a full priced Intuition liner?

I used a bar of regular yellow glide wax yesterday and it worked fairly well. Kept them about 75% dry and I was going through actual water at a couple points.

How do you apply it? With the grain only?

Re: Beware the Ides.

Those are 178 Objectives that I stuck in my boat. It's an early prototype of the new Valkyrie, so I don't really know how to compare it in size to your Expedition. My guess is either of your skis will fit, but it takes some doing to get them in just the right place so that neither tips nor tails are...

Re: Beware the Ides.

They are packrafts, and yes, the skis go inside.

This was a quick shakedown cruise to test a few ideas in advance of a multi-day, multi-river trip coming up in a few weeks.

Re: Beware the Ides.

Beyond epic. I love the mix & match. Inserts in the Objs? How they holding up? I've always been a little iffy shiffy on inserts in the Paulownia. How does the tap do? I don't have a lot of experience tapping into wood, so I'm not sure how to respond. I proceeded slowly and delicately. And used QK's...
