Re: Bindings 101: Where to mount Telemark bindings (Part I)
K2 Shuksan as a case study. I just picked up pair of K2 Shuksan skis (2008 I think). They are like new. Stiff and snappy with traditional camber. I plan to use them for front side carvers and skinning up the resort. They have mid-sole marks on them as do my boots. They were mounted pins on balance p...

Re: Rossignol Experience 84 AI initial impressions
Thanks for the reply. I went with 1 cm back from boot center line. This seems to be quite common for tele on alpine skis. Also I use a rather neutral binding with a less stiff boot so tend to ski more forward on the balls of my feet. 1 cm is less than a half an inch. I doubt will make much differenc...

Re: Rossignol Experience 84 AI initial impressions
What binding mount point did you go with? I just got a pair of Exp 84's in great shape for cheap. Now comes the angst of deciding where to mount the bindings.

Re: Chord Center mounting- does it make any sense?
Not being centered with a 50/50 balance isn't my problem, in fact I don't have any problems. I didn't come up with the idea about keeping the lead ski flat on my own. I got it from one of Dickie Halls later instructional videos, and it works. If I'm in deep powder and want my skis to come up I may ...

Re: New boots for this season
I have fairly wide feet and a poorly healed stress fracture of my right navicular bone (bone above the arch) which protrudes and is sensitive to pressure so needed more spacious boots. Went with Black Diamond Seekers. 100 rated stiffness. Put a conventional (squishy) alpine boot liner in them. Works...

Re: Chord Center mounting- does it make any sense?
@joeatomictoad: I think I understand your "ball of energy" idea. Makes sense. Sounds similar to the "imaginary ball between the knees" drill. The idea being that you imagine you have a ball between your knees that you don't want to loose. The knees rotate around the ball during lead changes, but nev...

Re: Chord Center mounting- does it make any sense?
I agree with fisheater. Traditional and true telemark technique involves the skier being on the balls of feet for both skis with each ski weighted equally and both skis working as one.Granted the rear ski heel will be lifted much higher. A tip I got while learning during the leather age was "big toe...
